The Dolomites, with their scenic beauty, unique geological features, numerous nature reserves and characteristic break between the lush high alpine meadows and steeply climbing rocky peaks was declared a
UNESCO World Natural Heritage site on 26 June 2009. The mountain region has thus become part of the select group of
most beautiful and important natural landscapes and destinations in the world. A great accolade for these captivating mountains, but also for the people who reside, live and work in the region.
